October

A few huge things in my life have taken place in the month of October. I have mixed feelings about it every year. This year I was doing okay at the beginning of the month. Loving it. I was so excited about moving into my moms house and having an awesome Halloween party. I love Halloween. Also, It was two years ago on October 30th that I met my husband, Bryce Christiansen. Now, I hate it. I loathe it. I hate everthing that is right now, hence my hatred of October right now. I am having the hardest time, I believe in the last 3 years, right now. I want to get in bed and not get out for oh, 3 or 4 weeks. It was also 3 years ago yesterday that my dad was killed in a motor cycle accident. My mom also flew back to Germany a week ago, today. There's more, of course, there always is. No need to go into detail. If you come across me and you get a rude or snippy remark or no answer at all, it's not personal. If you ask me how I am doing I will not respond. I used to say " like I just got hit by a bus". Now it's " I'd rather be hit by a bus". I got tired of the funny looks, so now I say nothing. If this happens to you, like I said, it's not personal.

Freaking Awesome Halloween Party

Me and Bryce are having a Halloween party at our new house. Everyone that I or Bryce know in mesa is invited. There will be delicious food and plenty of baked goods and Hot Chocolate. You will be able to make your own caramel apple. Rockband will be up and running, probably all night long. Costume contest with an awesome prize for the winner. A scavenger hunt with a prize at the end for who ever figures out all the clues. The first clue will be available at the front door. And last but not least, a Murder Mystery hosted by the wonderful Bryce Christiansen. Come pig out and have tons of fun.

The Cause of Abscess's

Anal sacs (also called "anal glands") are two small glands just inside your pet's anus. The material secreted into these glands is thick and foul smelling. Most animals can empty these glands voluntarily for scent marking or in self defense (like a skunk might do).
Domestic animals have largely lost their ability to empty these sacs voluntarily. Walking around and normal defecation serves to empty the glands but some animals become unable to empty their glands on their own at all. The sacs become impacted and uncomfortable. Dogs with impacted anal sacs usually scoot their rear on the ground in an attempt to empty the glands. Some dogs will lick their anal area and other dogs will chase their tails. Cats often lick the fur off just under their tails.

WHAT HAPPENS IF AN IMPACTED SAC DOES NOT GET EMPTIED?
An abscess can form and rupture out through the skin. This is a painful, messy and pretty smelly condition often mistaken for rectal bleeding. If an anal sac abscess forms, it must be properly treated by your veterinarian. Antibiotics will be needed.

My poor baby

So, tuesday I stayed home from work to see my OBGYN again (sat in that office for 6 hours. I don't want to talk about it) and while I was home I got to spend some quality time with my first born child. During this time I found that he was behaving quite oddly. My usually happy, loving snuggly monty was very lethargic and didn't seem to want to move much and was actually licking his butt. I know your thinking, " all dogs lick their butts" but not this dog. He is not a but licker. By that night I was really worried and told my husband he had to take him to the vet the next morning. My husband didn't question me at all, he was absolutely wonderful and got him in at 10:30 the next morning. Apparently my monty had an absess on his booty that had opened up and they needed to put him under to cut it out. Yuck. For those of you who are not chihuahua owner here is some insight. Chihuahua have these glands in there booty's that fill up with a very itchy fluid that need to be popped regularly otherwise this is the consequence. If you see them scooting there bum on the floor it means it's time to get them sqeezed. Normally, I take my chi's in about every 3 months and get them popped and never had any problems. It takes like 5 minutes and costs about $9. When this happend I realized I hadn't taken him in, in over a year. Poor guy. So now he has this open wound on his bum. They open it up and let it clean and heal itself, they don't stitch it up. My monty is a big weeny. We put the cone on him to stop him from licking and he did not stop whining. The little weeny won't even walk he stays in Fergie's pink bed all day long. He's such a girlie man.

Kitten update

These are some of the cutes kitties I have ever seen. Having grown up with a mother who found it hard to say no to animals I have seen a cat give birth about 4 times and have had several cats who had kittens but this is probably the most beautiful litter I have had. All of these kitties have little ewok faces. They are super cuddly too, as you can tell. 3 are still up for grabs so if anyone wants a super cute kitten for the holidays here are some cute ones.
