Bridemaids Jewelry and New Haircut

So, I have a friend who is getting married soon and she has chosen the fall colors as her wedding colors. She's been having a hard time finding bridesmaids jewelry so I told her I'd make it. She showed me something she'd like and told me to do something like it. I thought it was too boring so I kind of ignored her idea and designed my own.

this is what I came up with. I made the floaters myself.

I also got my hair did. I'm keeping it blonde for now. I think I've decided that I like it better red but it took a lot of effort to get it blonde and some other like it better blonde.

I am loving it!!!!

So easy and if I decide to grow it out it will be pony tail length by next summer.

Halloween

First of all, donut brought us a bird again this morning. Fortunately, I was at stake conference saving us padded seat, so Bryce had to deal with the bird.

I love Halloween. It's my second favorite holiday, second only to Christmans. It's a little jaded because my dad died on October 26th.

I like decorations but like all decorations, Halloween decorations are expensive. So, I again got crafty and creative and have made 2 of my own decoration for a very small amount of money.

The first one is my 'BOO' project. I used 5 wooden slats of wood, orange and black paint, B O O wooden letters, 5 small pottery pots, and 2 premade pumkin things. Here it is.

The are crooked on purpose. I like them that way.

After some polka dots and hot glue, this is my final product. Fun huh.

This is what I'm going to hang on my door for everyone to see. Happy Halloween. This wooden slat is bigger then the other 5, of course.

Ta Da!

My favorite pedicure to date

Iwent and got a pedicure today. I do this once a month or so because bad things happen if I don't. I've suckered my mom into coming with me from now on too. Today my sister in law Margaret came and got her toes done too. She can't find a place in tuscon. I had just finished doing her hair and was going to drop her off at my toe place when my mom sent me a text asking if I wanted to do pedicures today or Monday. I told her to meet me and Margaret there and we all got our toes done. I love my toe place and I ALWAYS love the job they do but this one tops them all. You don't have to agree but I love, love, love my toes. They totally rock!

Finally making jewelry again!

While on family vacation in California, when I was 14, my mom took me and my twin sister to a little shopping area. We were in Carlsbad and having lots of fun. While having fun we stumbled onto a bead store. They had little kits with everything you needed to make a necklace and a bracelet. The kit I picked out and bought was brown and yellow colors with a brown clay bead with a sunflower on it for the center piece. That was the day my love affair with making jewelry began. I loved it!!! I continued to buy more beads and new tools and new books on how to do certain things and my love continued to grow. Eventually it became a huge hobby. It was my out. When everything in life seemed to be too much all I had to do was pull out my tackle box full of beads and begin to put new things together. I could do it for hours at a time. Eventually I grew quite the collection. I learned the difference between sterling silver and silver plating. I learned what round nose plyers are and how to use them tomake the perfect circle on an eye pin or head pin. I learned about glass beads, fiber optic beads and Sworovski crystal. I even started making baby bracelets for an online baby product website. They still sale some of my designs on that website.

Unfortunately, when I was 22 on the only night I decided to leave my 30 pound bead tackle box in my car, someone broke 2 of my windows and stole it along with my haircutting shears and license. I probably had $5,000 worth of bead in that box. Now, $5,000 worth of beads acumulated in 8 years isn't bad. What sucked is that I couldn't go out and blow $5,000 to replace my supply. It was a super sad thing. I was devastated. It was my out, my release, my escape from everything in my chaotic world. I bought a new little tiny tackle box to restart the collecting. It has been 2 and a half years and I finally have enough to make a few things. So, here's a sample of my creativity so far.

I wear black to work so I keepp and make alot of black jewelry.

I saw this kind-of-cameo and had to have it. It's even prettier up close and personal.

My brown set that I totally love. I can't find the other earing though. I'll just have to make a new one.

Not bad huh?

Donut's messes

This is what I woke up to yesterday morning. Can you guess what all that is?
Doesn't she look soooo happy with herself.

Feathers, they are feathers. Lots and lots of feathers.
There was also a small bird on the brink of death. I decided you didn't need to see that. Our door was shut so when she couldn't share it with us she decided to just play with it. For who knows how long. She has 2 bells around her neck already. So, I made the execcutive decision to declaw her. She is at the vets now. I pick her up tomorrow. Hopefully no claws and 2 bells will at least slow down the constant gifts of little animals she brings me.
